Allie's First Friend
Last night I went into Allie's room to check on her and I found this:
Several weeks ago I started putting this cute little doll in her crib at night and telling her, "Look who's waiting for you! It's Dolly!" (Yes I know... not a very creative name). I was kind of trying to get her to form an attachment because I read that babies this age often adopt a 'comfort object' and that the object can calm them during stressful times or when Mommy is not around. I thought that would be a good thing. Recently I've noticed that she picks the doll up when she first wakes in the morning; and that she's always happy to hug the doll when I bring it to her. But walking in and seeing her cuddling with it was just the cutest thing ever! It made me realize that I wouldn't be at all disappointed if Allie turns out to be the girliest of all girly-girls. I hope this is the start of a beautiful friendship!
