Little Miss Bossypants

So, Allie has recently become a pro at bossing me around.  Here are some examples:

  • While trying to comb Allie's hair after her bath: "Buzz off Mommy!"  I guess she learned that one at school because I never use that phrase.  I had to ask her, "Did you just say buzz off??"  She answered in a very impatient tone, "Yes!"
  • While telling her, no, she could not get off the potty without wiping her too-too:  "Hey!  Hey! Shhhhhhh! Don't tell me no Mommy!"  (The "hey's" at the beginning of her sentence were spoken over me telling her no.)
  • After driving over a bump a little too fast in the car: "Be careful mommy!"
  • While insisting on brushing Allie's teeth for her before allowing her to do it herself:  "No Mommy. Allie's toothbrush. Put toothbrush RIGHT HERE. You go time out."  She was wagging her finger at me for that one.
The other morning as we were going out the door, she was bossing me about something and I said, "Get in the car, Little Miss Bossypants."  She paused and giggled and then gave me an unprecedented 100% cooperation while getting into the car.  I swear, it was because she really liked the new title I had just given her!
